Some of the health effects to having vending machines in schools
Almost anyone can think negatively of the health effects to having vending machines in schools. From obesity to heart problems, it’s true that vending machines are a main cause of such problems and illnesses affecting our young today. The sugar and calorie content of the products in those vending machines are enough to make any health nutritionist squirm in disgust. It is clear to see what our future generations will be like with such a high percentage of them overweight.
These problems though, cannot be solved by simply banning vending machines in schools. Yes we may deter them from eating such food for some time, but for how long can we do that is the question. Just out of school, shops selling such unhealthy junk food and soda drinks are within one’s sight immediately. We can only control them in school. Out of there, they are free to do what they want.
It is not feasible to tell these young children to totally abstain from these types of foods. The more we restrict, the more curious children will be and you know for sure once they can get their hands on those food items, they will be gobbling them up. It is more important to teach them to lead a balanced lifestyle by introducing exercises and sports to them. In this way, the health effects to having vending machines in schools can be negated and we will not have a generation of couch potatoes.
